Well, I had a birthday. And then there was a retreat at the Christine Center (if you have an opportunity to attend a retreat hosted by Susan Mickel please do so!). I finished up teaching a class and read a few books. There was also a lot of this and that and the other thing. Where does the time all go? Lately I’ve been on a streak of hearing about the deaths of people I care about and/or hearing about vibrant older people starting to decline. Always I feel this whisper of seize the day, seize the day. But how do we do that? How do we allocate our time between bills and errands and the things/people we love best? Ah, a coffee musing of questions without answers. Here are two books (one quite old, one quite new) I’ve read this month that haven’t answered the questions either, but have made the time pondering more enjoyable! No Death, No Fear by Thich Nhat Hanh and In Love With the World by Mingyur Rinpoche.
